Still Here · Safety center

Support should feel clear and safe.

Here’s what you can expect when you reach out, how to protect your privacy, and what to do if someone is in immediate danger.

Peer support, not therapy

Still Here volunteers listen, offer compassionate support, and help you find a next step. They are not clinicians and cannot diagnose, provide treatment, or guarantee someone is always online.

Share only what feels safe

You can use live chat without giving your real name. Approved volunteers may read messages so they can respond. Please avoid sharing your address, school, passwords, or other details you do not need to share.

A person may join the chat

An automated assistant may help get the conversation started. A volunteer can take over and read the conversation. If you need a human right away, use a crisis service rather than waiting for a volunteer reply.

Still Here is not an emergency or medical service. We cannot guarantee immediate replies, monitor your safety, or contact emergency services for you. If you may act on thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, contact emergency services or a crisis line now.
